Update: Batesville man charged with "multiple counts" of child porn

Independence County Sheriff Steve Jeffery says a Batesville man now faces "multiple counts of computer child pornography."

Grant Rader, 34, is currently being held at the Independence County Jail on $100,000.  

Tuesday morning officers from the Independence County Sheriff's Department, along with Arkansas State police and Homeland Security Investigations, executed a search warrant at Rader's home.

Sheriff Jeffery said the search was the result of an investigation into computer child pornography.

CELBURNE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – Police say drug possession puts four Cleburne County people behind bars.

A search by the Cleburne County Narcotics Investigators at 401 West Front Street in Heber Springs on Tuesday, April 30th. The search of the home lead to the arrest of 43-year-old Jerry Wilson and 20-year-old Dana Graham, both from Heber Springs.

Wilson was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. Graham was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Child porn investigation leads to Batesville man’s arrest

A Batesville man was arrested Tuesday following an investigation into computer child pornography.

Grant Rader is being held in the Independence County Jail, according to a news release from Sheriff Steve Jeffery.

Tuesday morning officers from the Independence County Sheriff’s Department, along with the Arkansas State Police and Homeland Security Investigations, executed a search warrant at Rader’s home in Batesville.

Rader was taken into custody and is currently awaiting the filing of formal charges, Jeffery said.

Not only are the fruit and veggies fresh, so is the location of the Spring River Farmers’ Market.

The market will kick off its third season this Saturday, May 25, in the Cherokee Village town center plaza.

The move marks a fresh start for what is expected to be an vibrant market season.

The market will be open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. until October 12.

Armbands are now on sale for the 32nd Annual Portfest Festival.

The festival gets underway Friday, June 7, with performances by the Bellamy Brothers and John Conley.  Gates open at 4 p.m. with the concert starting at 5:30 p.m.  Armbands are $15 in advance or $20 at the gates.

The fun continues at noon Saturday, June 8, with more live entertainment and family-friendly activities, like pony rides, a petting zoo and a fireworks extravaganza.

Sheriff: Meth lands an Izard Co. man back in jail

IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A
Calico Rock man was placed behind bars again for drug related charges on
Friday.

According to Izard County
Sheriff Tate Lawrence, 33-year-old Zachary Mayfield was charged with possession
of Methamphetamine, illegally possessing guns, and multiple sorts of drug
paraphernalia.

Mayfield was first
arrested after he had a warrant placed for his arrest for attempting to flee from
authorities.

He is in the Izard County
Jail on a $20,000 bond but is also facing a hold through the Department of
Corrections.
