Teen charged after van overturns | News

A Region 8 teen was ticketed after his minivan went airborne and crashed.

The crash happened just after 3:30 Thursday afternoon on State Highway 14, three miles west of Allison.

Trooper Clint D. Vaughan of the Arkansas State Police said 19-year-old Stephen B. Boettcher of Mountain View was westbound when he lost control of his 2004 Chevy Venture on a curve.

Trooper Vaughan said the van ran off the road and struck a culvert which caused the vehicle to go airborne.  The van then overturned before coming to a stop.

Boettcher and his passenger, 21-year-old Jessica Colby, were both injured.  They were taken to Stone County Hospital.

Boettcher was cited with failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
