A motorcyclist involved in a crash Sunday night has died of his injuries.
The crash happened at 6:41 p.m. on State Highway 9 in Izard County, according to Arkansas State Police.
James Demmon, 51, of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Michel Johnson, 55, of Waterloo, Nebraska were both southbound when Demmon’s 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle ran off the road.
According to Trooper Angela DeWitt, Johnson “took evasive action” to avoid hitting Demmon and lost control of his 2001 Yamaha motorcycle.
Johnson was taken to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock where he died of his injuries on Wednesday, July 4.
Demmon was taken to Stone County Medical Center.
