Sheriff's office, ASP investigating man's death | News
The body of a man found dead in his pickup truck has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for autopsy.
According to Sharp County Sheriff Mark Counts, dispatch received a 911 call Friday night from a woman who claimed she was in a vehicle with Christopher Farris.
She told the 911 operator that Farris was driving erratically and acting irrationally, so she got out of the vehicle.
The sheriff’s department and the Cave City Police Department responded to the area and found Farris’ vehicle on Gravel Pit Road.
After finding Farris “unresponsive,” Sheriff Counts said Sgt. Brian Barnett and Reserve Officer John Marlow of the Cave City Police Department, began CPR.
The lifesaving measures were stopped after Spring River Ambulance personnel spoke with an emergency room doctor at White River Medical Center.
Sharp County Coroner Doug Wortham was called and he pronounced Farris dead at the scene.
Sheriff Counts said Arkansas State Police are assisting his office in the investigation.
