The featured speakers at the Third Annual Trout Nature Center Hall of Fame Banquet, to be held April 14 at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH), should lure quite a few anglers.
This year's inductees are Forrest Wood, founder of Ranger Boats, and Joan Wulff, a fly-fishing legend.
The banquet, which will feature both a live and silent auction, will serve as a fundraiser for the Trout Nature Center. The center and the Trout Hall of Fame are currently under construction at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center.
A private reception for the event's sponsors and inductees will begin at 5 p.m. followed by a cocktail hour and silent auction at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed by the program and live auction.
In 1968 Wood founded Ranger Boats, which is headquartered in Flippin. It is the largest manufacturer of premium fiberglass fishing boats in the country.
Wulff is a national casting champion. She once cast a fly 161 feet. She is also the co-founder and chief instructor of the Wulff School of Fly Fishing in Lew Beach, NY.
For information on the induction ceremony and banquet, call the ASUMH Office of Development at 870-508-6105 or visit www.troutnaturecenter.com.
