Two charged with DWI following separate crashes

 

Two men were hospitalized and ticketed for DWI following separate wrecks Sunday afternoon in Baxter County.

The first crash happened at 12:55 p.m. on State Highway 5 North at Simple Man’s.

According to Trooper Jason C. Baethke of the Arkansas State Police, 54-year-old Steve Deese of Mountain Home was southbound when his 1999 Ford Windstar ran off the road.

The van traveled approximately 68 feet on the grass shoulder before hitting a culvert, Baethke reported.

Morphine, hydrocodone and xanax.  Those are just some of the drugs investigators say they found on a woman parked behind a school.

Emily Blandon is charged with possession of hydrocodone, possession of fentanyl, possession of morphine, possession of oxycodone, possession of methylphenidate, possession of methadone, possession of alprazolam, DWI#2-drug related, driving on suspended for DWI and no insurance.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy arrested the 28-year-old Mountain Home woman after finding her in a vehicle behind a local school.

JPD arrest 3 suspected in credit card theft ring

 

Jonesboro police Monday arrested three women suspected in a large credit card fraud ring.

Latoya Young, 25; Dametria Johnson, 22; and Brittany Shaw, 23, are charged with theft of property and fraudulent use of a credit card, both Class D felonies.

According to court records, the three women are accused of stealing wallets then using the victims’ credit cards to purchase and load Walmart Visa gift cards.  The gift cards are then taken to Little Rock where police say they are traded for cash.

A Cave City man is being held on $150,000 bond, accused of raping a 13-year-old girl.

According to court records filed in Independence County Circuit Court, 19-year-old William Michael Brown is charged with one count of rape, a Class Y felony.

Last October the victim reportedly told investigators the assault took place during her 2011 Christmas break from school.

A Melbourne woman faces first-degree assault charges after investigators say she cut her neighbor’s throat with a knife.

Thursday afternoon Izard County sheriff’s deputies were called to an apartment complex on Moser Street.

When they arrived they found the victim holding a towel around his neck.

The man told officers his neighbor, 39-year-old Latina Kurtley, had come to his apartment to watch a movie.

While rubbing lotion on his back, the man said Kurtley cut his throat with a knife then ran out the door.

Sheriff:  Woman "admitted" to stealing from employer to pay her bills

 

Investigators say a Bull Shoals woman accused of stealing money from her employer told them she needed it to pay her bills.

Tammy Marie Rocheleau, 45, is charged with felony forgery and felony theft of property.

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, Rocheleau admitted to forging checks from Gaston’s Resort.

Mountain Home man accused of computer child pornography

 

A Mountain Home man is in jail, accused of sending pornographic images of himself to what he thought was a young girl he had met online.

On Sunday Marion County sheriff’s deputies arrested 37-year-old Steven Aldridge on charges of computer child pornography and internet stalking of a child.

According to a news release from Nathan Rogers, criminal investigator and jail administrator, the arrest followed an undercover online investigation by the sheriff’s department.
