Cave City man charged with raping girl | Crime
A Cave City man is being held on $150,000 bond, accused of raping a 13-year-old girl.
According to court records filed in Independence County Circuit Court, 19-year-old William Michael Brown is charged with one count of rape, a Class Y felony.
Last October the victim reportedly told investigators the assault took place during her 2011 Christmas break from school.
The girl said Brown, who was 18 at the time, took her for a ride one Saturday night that ended at a park off Antioch Road. Once there, she claimed Brown asked her to help him look for a CD in the back seat. The girl told investigators that’s when Brown raped her.
On November 1, 2012, Detective Shane Meyer of the Independence County Sheriff’s Office interviewed Brown after advising him of his Miranda rights.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Brown admitted during questioning that he had driven the victim to a park and proceeded to have sexual intercourse with her.
Brown said the girl asked him at least twice to stop but he continued to have sex with her for about 15 minutes, according to the report.
The detective said Brown “also stated that the juvenile victim told him that it hurt approximately two to three times.”
