Woman accused of cutting neighbor's throat | Crime
A Melbourne woman faces first-degree assault charges after investigators say she cut her neighbor’s throat with a knife.
Thursday afternoon Izard County sheriff’s deputies were called to an apartment complex on Moser Street.
When they arrived they found the victim holding a towel around his neck.
The man told officers his neighbor, 39-year-old Latina Kurtley, had come to his apartment to watch a movie.
While rubbing lotion on his back, the man said Kurtley cut his throat with a knife then ran out the door.
According to a news release from Sheriff Tate Lawrence’s office, the cut was only skin deep.
Kurtley remains in the Izard County Detention Facility awaiting a court appearance.
