Mountain Home man accused of computer child pornography

A Mountain Home man is in jail, accused of sending pornographic images of himself to what he thought was a young girl he had met online.

On Sunday Marion County sheriff’s deputies arrested 37-year-old Steven Aldridge on charges of computer child pornography and internet stalking of a child.

According to a news release from Nathan Rogers, criminal investigator and jail administrator, the arrest followed an undercover online investigation by the sheriff’s department.

Rogers says Aldridge “made contact and engaged in sexually explicit chats and sent pornographic images of himself, via the internet and cell phone,” with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl.  Instead it was an undercover officer from the sheriff’s department.

Aldridge arranged a meeting with the “girl” at a Yellville business, Rogers reported.  When Aldridge arrived at the business, deputies arrested him without incident.

Aldridge is being held in the Marion County Detention Center in lieu of $35,000 bond.
