Sex offender in jail for failing to register...again

Once again a Level 3 registered sex offender is behind bars.

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, 21-year-old Cody Lee Wilson was arrested Friday for failing to report his correct address as required by law.

Wilson had previously registered his address as being 725 Oakland Road.

But on November 30, the sheriff's department learned Wilson had moved.

According to state law, a registered sex offender is required to notify the sheriff's office of any change of address at least 10 days before moving.

On December 5, deputies found Wilson living at 353 Tucker Cemetery Road.  He had not notified the sheriff's office that he was living there, Sheriff Montgomery said.

Wilson is charged with failure to register, which is a felony.  He is being held in lieu of $15,000 bond.

This is the third time in little more than a year that Wilson has been arrested for failing to comply with sex offender regulations:

November 5, 2012:  “High risk” sex offender returns to Baxter County

January 27, 2012:  Search on for high-risk sex offender

November 9, 2011:  Sex offender arrested again for failing to register

September 27, 2011:  Sex offender arrested for failing to register
