Man charged with two counts of rape | Crime

A Region 8 man is due in court later this month to answer charges he raped two women.

Izard County sheriff’s deputies arrested 41-year-old William Winston Taylor of Calico Rock on November 25.  He was charged with raping a 21-year-old woman.

During their investigation, Sheriff Tate Lawrence said another woman came forward and said Taylor had raped her two months earlier. 

Taylor was charged with two counts of rape, both Class Y felonies.  He posted bond in the amount of $100,000 and was released from the Izard County Detention Center.

Taylor is scheduled to appear in Circuit Court on December 17.

In an unrelated case, 28-year-old Jonathan Wesley Yates of Mt. Pleasant was arrested on November 28 and charged with 4th degree sexual assault involving an underage female.

Yates is free on $250 bond awaiting an appearance in District Court.
