Man arrested following hours-long police search | Crime
A manhunt that last several hours ended with a Mountain Home man in jail.
On Wednesday, Baxter County sheriff’s deputies arrested 45-year-old Aaron John Guptill after searching for him for several hours.
According to Sheriff John Montgomery, Guptill fled from officers during a traffic stop when it was learned the car he was driving had been stolen from a home in Salesville.
Investigators, as well as the K-9 team from the Department of Corrections and the sheriff’s office helicopter searched for Guptill for several hours before taking him into custody.
Guptill is charged with Theft of Property (motor vehicle)-Felony, Failure to Appear, Non-Payment of Fines, Body Attachment for Child Support Non-Payment.
He is being held at the Baxter County Detention Center on a bond of $15,000 for the vehicle theft charge, $745 on the misdemeanor warrants and $2,500 on the child support order. He’s scheduled to appear in Circuit Court on October 4.
