Man charged with DWI after truck spinning crash | Crime
Police charged a Gassville man with multiple offenses, including DWI, after he crashed his pickup truck into several trees.
Just after 10:30 p.m. Monday, Arkansas State Police were called to a crash on State Highway 101 in Baxter County.
According to Trooper Jason W. Hooks’ report, 35-year-old Lance Stafford was southbound when he lost control of his 1994 Toyota pickup on a curve and left the roadway.
The truck traveled approximately 85-feet before hitting a mailbox. The truck then began to spin around after Stafford overcorrected, Trooper Hooks reported.
The truck spun another 131 feet before it returned to the highway, at which time it crossed both south and northbound lanes. Trooper Hooks reported the truck then traveled more than 100 feet down a steep embankment and hit a large rock. After slamming into the rock, the truck then spun around and plowed into several trees before finally coming to a rest.
Stafford was taken to Baxter County Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries.
He was also charged with DWI, careless/prohibited driving, no seatbelt and no proof of insurance.
