Man arrested on car theft, drug charges | Crime
An investigation into a stolen car ended with a man arrested on multiple drug charges.
Thursday night the Izard County Sheriff’s Department was notified that a vehicle stolen in Sharp County was parked on Highway 58 near Concord Church.
According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, when deputies arrived at the scene they found 28-year-old Allen Bowers of Hardy in the car along with drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff Lawrence said the deputies found a plastic baggie containing a “crystalline substance,” digital scales, rubber tubing for a tourniquet, cotton swabs, an empty syringe and a spoon with white residue on it.
Bowers was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession with the purpose to use drug paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to manufacture, store, contain or conceal methamphetamine.
He is currently being held in the Sharp County Jail on the vehicle theft charges with a hold from Izard County.
