Hungry crooks steal hot dogs, cheese dip from ballpark concession stand | Crime
Some crooks were apparently hungry when they broke into the concession stand at Floyd Community Park, 121 El Paso Rd. in Searcy, and stole more than $1,800 worth of items, including hot dogs and chips.
Monica Benton told the White County Sheriff’s Department the burglary occurred sometime between Wednesday, June 20, and Saturday, June 23.
Benton said she was not sure how the crooks managed to break into the ballpark’s concession stand. However, according to the incident report, the air conditioner had been removed. All that remained was its case.
Once inside the building, investigators say the crooks took a microwave, power strip, box cutters and screw drivers. The thieves also stole $500 worth of Ziplock bags, cleaning supplies and toilet paper as well as $500 worth of Gatorade, hot dogs, candy, coffee, cheese dip and bubble gum.
Tracie V. Jones of the sheriff’s department reported she was able to “lift a few prints off the case of the air conditioner.” They will be sent to the crime lab for comparison.
