Man, woman charged with making child porn | Crime
A Region 8 man and woman have been ordered to stand trial on child pornography charges.
Shannon Marie Adams, 42, of Searcy and Don Ray Harris, 57, of Heber Springs were both indicted on one count of production of child pornography. According to Christopher Thyer, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, Harris was also indicted on one count of possession of child pornography.
The investigation into the pair began last fall when a citizen notified Cleburne County Sheriff Marty Moss about an incident involving Harris and a minor female.
According to court records, on October 31, 2011, Adams took a young girl to Harris’s home for “the purpose of having the minor engage in sexually explicit conduct and to produce an image of the conduct.”
“The crimes perpetrated against this victim are reprehensible,” said Raymond R. Parmer, special agent in charge of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations in New Orleans which assisted the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
If convicted, Harris and Adams face as much as 30 years in prison and/or $250,000 fine.
