Sheriff: GPS links suspect to crimes | Crime
Dillon Lawyer, 18, of Mountain Home might need an attorney.
On Thursday, April 26, Baxter County sheriff's deputies arrested Lawyer for stealing a 2008 Ford F-350 pickup truck belonging to the Missouri & Northern Arkansas Railroad.
The truck, valued at $25,000, was reportedly stolen from a home off State Highway 5.
The sheriff said deputies used a GPS locator mounted on the truck to find it buried in the mud at the end of North Cardinal Drive in Mountain Home.
Mountain Home police had already arrested Lawyer for another stolen vehicle and for the break-in of a city pharmacy. According to the sheriff, GPS evidence gathered from the stolen truck linked Lawyer to the break-in. Equipment from the truck was reportedly used to break into the store.
Lawyer was charged with one felony count of motor vehicle theft. He was later released from the Baxter County Detention Center after posting $15,000 bond. He's scheduled to appear in Circuit Court on May 24.
