UPDATE: Freedom brief for Texas fugitive | Crime

A man wanted by the U.S. Marshal's office is back in custody.

Joseph Lewis was awaiting sentencing on drug-related charges in Texas when he escaped.

According to the White County Sheriff's Office, he apparently fled to the Floyd area.

When marshals tried to arrest him Wednesday morning, Lewis got away.

But his freedom was short lived.

White County officials and U.S. Marshals arrested him around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
