Man arrested on 13 charges following crash | Crime
A Region 8 man arrested in July after investigators say he pushed his fiancée off a porch then later urinated on her is back behind bars, accused of leaving the scene of an accident that sent a woman to the hospital.
Barton Monroe Teague, 27, of Pineville is being held in the Izard County Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bond.
According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, on Wednesday, August 7, Teague left the scene of a crash on State Highway 223.
While investigating the crash, officers found a woman suffering from “major injuries” near the scene. She was taken to Calico Rock Medical Center then airlifted to a Little Rock hospital, Sheriff Lawrence said.
Later that night it was reported to the sheriff’s office that an “intoxicated male had approached two residences in the area asking to use a phone,” the sheriff said.
The sheriff’s department, Arkansas State Police and the Arkansas Department of Correction dog team then conducted a full search for the man.
Teague was located in a wooded area near the homes. Lawrence said officers tased Teague when he failed to comply with their orders.
Teague is charged with the following:
- Driving on a suspended license
- Driving while intoxicated
- Driving left of center
- Careless and prohibited driving
- No proof of insurance
- Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle
- No seat belt
- Refusal to submit to a chemical test
- Failure to stop after an accident with injuries
- Fleeing on foot
- Criminal trespass
- Contributing to the delinquency of a minor
- Resisting arrest
This is the second time in less than a month that Teague has been locked up in Izard County.
On July 19, he was arrested for domestic battery after he reportedly pushed his fiancée off a porch then urinated on her.
At the time Sheriff Lawrence said “alcohol was a definite contributor” in the assault.
