Deputies investigating Sonic break-ins | Crime
Instead of a Route 44, whoever broke into two Sonic restaurants early Friday morning was apparently looking for cash.
Just after 3 a.m. Independence County sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglary alarm at the Sonic located at 715 St. Louis St. in Batesville.
When deputies arrived, they found the power turned off and the glass front door shattered.
The restaurant manager, who was called to the scene, walked through the business but could not find anything missing or disturbed.
That wasn’t the case at the Sonic located at 50 Stanley Wood Dr. in Southside.
According to the incident report, around 3:30 a.m. someone shattered the front door and broke into two filing cabinets.
The store manager told deputies an undisclosed amount of cash was missing.
As in the earlier burglary, the power had been shut off.
Both restaurants have surveillance cameras; however, the video was unavailable at the time of the report.
If you have any information on either of these break-ins, call the Independence County Sheriff’s Office at (870) 793-8838.
