Young child found in suspected drug house | Crime
Investigators executing a search warrant Monday at a suspected drug house found more than just crack cocaine. They also reported finding a young child.
Demetrius Ellis, 21, and Ashley Teeter, 23, both of Searcy are charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (crack cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a drug premise, and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Their arrest came after officers with Central Arkansas Drug Task Force and Searcy Police Department executed a search warrant at their apartment in the 1700-block of East Market.
During the search, officers reportedly found 9.8 grams of suspected crack cocaine, valued at $980, along with several items of used to ingest drugs and $1,107 in cash.
A child under the age of two was also discovered in the home, according to a news release from Corporal Steve Hernandez of the Searcy Police Dept.
Ellis is being held in the White County Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bond. Teeter’s bond was set at $25,000.
