Deputies searching for suspect who beat, robbed sleeping man | Crime
Investigators need your help finding a man accused of pulling a sleeping man out of his bed then beating and robbing him.
Baxter County sheriff’s investigators say on March 21 Jacob Edward Caple of Lakeview and Christian Blake Sisk of rural Mountain Home broke into a home in the 1700-block of Old Military Road.
The victim told deputies he was asleep when the two suspects, whom he identified, pulled him out of his bed and beat him. The man was hospitalized with serious injuries, according to a news release from Sheriff John Montgomery.
Following the attack, investigators say the 21-year-old suspects then stole a personal safe, an iPhone, iPod Touch, several knives, a camcorder, Clonazepam tablets and a Walther PPKS .380 pistol.
The following day Caple was arrested at the Mountain Home Walmart on a shoplifting charge.
Investigators say he had the stolen pistol in his possession at the time of his arrest. Officers also reported finding some of the other stolen items in his vehicle.
Caple was taken to the sheriff’s office where he reportedly confessed that he and Sisk had broken into the man’s home, beat and robbed him.
On Wednesday, April 17, Caple was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on charges of battery in the second degree, residential burglary and theft of property (firearm), all felonies. He’s also charged with misdemeanor theft of property.
Investigators are still searching for Sisk. If you have any information on his whereabouts, contact the sheriff’s office.
