Farmers' market offering fresh veggies in fresh location

 

Not only are the fruit and veggies fresh, so is the location of the Spring River Farmers’ Market.

The market will kick off its third season this Saturday, May 25, in the Cherokee Village town center plaza.

The move marks a fresh start for what is expected to be an vibrant market season.

The market will be open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. until October 12.

Do you have Powerball fever yet?

You might once you find out how much you could win.

According to the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is expected to reach a record $600 million.

The previous record was $587 million won on November 28, 2012.

All you have to do is match the five white ball numbers (1-59) and the red Powerball number (1-35).

The drawing will be held at 9:59 p.m. CST Saturday.

Of course, count on Region 8 News to bring you the winning numbers.

More than 60 people showed up at the Highland Elks Lodge on Tuesday, April 30, to win numerous prizes donated by local businesses.

Ash Flat Library is experiencing growing pains.

To alleviate the growing number of selections available to patrons, the library plans to install additional shelving units.

Thida Community Center hosting sweet fundraiser

 

An old-fashioned pie supper and cake/pie auction will be held this Saturday, May 11, at 6 p.m. at the Thida Community Center located at 839 Departee Creek.

Modern Woodmen of America-Chapter 322 of Newark has promised to match all of the proceeds raised, up to $2,500.

The money will be donated to the Thida Community Center to install a new roof.
