Looking for something to do this weekend that will keep you out of the heat? Then book it to the Jackson County Library in Newport and take part in the following family-friendly events:
The library is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair now through Wednesday, July 25, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
Also on Wednesday, “The Kinders” will perform at 10 a.m. At 2 p.m. Discovery Hour will feature a science program and crafts.
“Story Time with Community Helpers” will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 1. A local game warden will present a story and participants will receive a craft to take home.
The library is located at 213 Walnut St. in Newport. Hours are:
- 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday
- 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday
