SOUTHSIDE, AR (KAIT) – An Independence County family is
calling on the Southside School District to fire one of its coaches.

The Howard family claims the coach recently made their
daughter run barefooted on a hot track, causing her to get blisters on her
feet. The superintendent, however, is refuting those claims.

"My feet are really sore, and every time I put pressure on
them, they really burn and they get irritated," said Lexie Howard, a seventh
grade student at Southside.

We’re pretty sure Rita Rollins did not wake up with a case of the Mondays.

How could she when she knew she and her son Ryan would be picking up a check for $40,000?

Rollins won the mega bucks playing Mega Millions.

She bought her lucky lottery ticket, along with the $1 option, at Tri Oaks in Higden, according to an email from the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery.

Because no one matched all 6 numbers, Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot is now worth an estimated $170 million.

Letter carriers collecting donations to “Stamp Out Hunger”

BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) – Local mail carriers will pick up
more than just letters this weekend.

They will also collect food donations as part of the nation's
largest annual food drive called "Stamp Out Hunger."

Donating to the cause is simple. All someone has to do is
leave a bag of non-perishable food items by the mailbox on Saturday, May 11.
The letter carriers will then deliver it to an area food pantry, like
Batesville Help & Hope.
