MOUTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT)- A two month investigation ends with an arrest.

Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel says officers arrested Jeffrey D. Heinsohn, 27, of Mountain Home on Wednesday.

He was charged with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance (oxycodone), a class C felony. He was also charged with distribution near certain facilities.

Manuel says Heinsohn's arrest comes after a two month drug investigation by the Mountain Home Police Department and Arkansas State Police.

Several pot plants seized, 'outside grow' operation shut down

BIG FLAT, AR (KAIT) – the Searcy County and Stone County Sheriff's Departments joined forces recently to shut down an "outside grow" operation.

According to the Stone County Sheriff, an undisclosed amount of marijuana and plants were seized September 14 in the Big Flat area.

Investigators said they do have a person of interest, and are continuing to collect information on the case.

Proponents say Issue #1 would "Move Arkansas Forward"

You could see a few more orange barrels on Arkansas roads.

That’s if voters approve Constitution Amendment Issue #1 when they head to the polls on November 6.

Issue #1 would use a temporary half-cent sales tax increase to finance a $1.3 billion bond issue for the construction of four-lane highways in the state.

Craig Douglass is the campaign coordinator for Issue #1. On Thursday he was in Jonesboro drumming up support for the measure.

A Calico Rock man was charged with careless driving after police say he slammed his motorcycle into a parked ambulance.

The crash happened Wednesday afternoon on the parking lot of Ozark EMS, State Highway 56.

According to Trooper Jason C. Baethke’s report, 23-year-old Antonio Sanchez was making a right turn onto Park Street when his Aprilia motorcycle careened into the parking lot and struck an ambulance.

Sanchez was taken to the Calico Rock Medical Center by ambulance with undisclosed injuries.

The City of Melbourne will host its 22nd Annual Fall Community-Wide Yard Sale on Saturday, October 6, from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Currently the city is preparing a list of sales that will be available for pick up at City Hall on Thursday and Friday, October 4 and 5.  To add your name and location to the list, call City Hall before 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 3.

C. Allan “Chuck” Butkus is the author of five thrillers, including his latest The Rulebook.

On Saturday, September 22, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Butkus will be at the Ash Flat Public Library to sign copies of his books.

Butkus was born in Waukegan, Illinois.  After receiving his Master of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Hawaii, he began writing.

In the last 7 years he has won more than 70 writing awards for his poetry and prose.
